Bloomington, Ind. (PRWEB) June 13, 2011

Author Solutions, Inc., the world leader in indie book publishing, announced Monday it’s hosting Book-to-Screen PitchFest 2 October 28-29 at the New York Marriott Marquis located in the heart of Times Square and the Broadway theater district in Manhattan . PitchFest 2 was created on the heels of the highly anticipated inaugural event, which sold out in a matter of days.

Like the first event, the schedule for the Book-to-Screen PitchFest 2 includes:

  • Reception and Cocktail Opener – October 28: Held at New York City’s famous Marriott Marquis, authors meet Hollywood producer Robert Kosberg, “the King of the Pitch,” and Marcus Chait, ASI’s director of new media, and mingle with other attendees.
  • How to Pitch Workshop with One-on-One Learning – October 29 (morning): Kosberg teaches attendees how to pitch a book to Hollywood and then gives each the opportunity to fine tune their approaches with one-on-one direct pitches to him and Chait.
  • Speed-Pitch – October 29 (afternoon): Attendees pitch to Hollywood company representatives in a “speed dating” setting. Each will have approximately two to three minutes per company to make a lasting impression.

“The first Book-to-Screen PitchFest was so well received by authors that we had no choice but to add a second edition in New York City to make it even more convenient for authors on the East Coast and in the Midwest and South,” said Keith Ogorek, ASI senior vice president of marketing. “These exclusive events provide a very limited number of authors a unique opportunity to hone their pitches and have the opportunity to pitch to entertainment executives and find out if their books might have the potential to make it to the screen.”

The Book-to Screen PitchFest is limited to 150 authors published through ASI and ASI partnership imprints. One month prior to the Book-to-Screen PitchFest, attendees will receive a pre-event assignment to help develop a first draft pitch for the Speed-Pitch event.
