Safe Systems has added a progressive feature to their suite of alarm services. Video Verification allows Safe Systems’ Central Station Operators to view video clips from residential and commercial locations. This additional video information from activated alarms allows them to provide a more accurate police response, and allows the customer to be better informed about the cause of the alarm.

According to Ian Nelson, Safe Systems’ Central Station Manager, Video Verification reaches far beyond the traditional alarm system. “With the traditional alarm system, a sensor gets tripped and sends you a signal. This is all the operator is able to communicate to both the customer and the responding authority. But with Video Verification, we’re able to provide a much deeper layer of knowledge for both the operator and the customer.”

Safe Systems’ Video Verification technology literally allows an operator to look at additional information in the form of video clips or stills, to see what has transpired at the site before and during the time of the alarm. This video can come from an integrated system where there is a camera for each zone that could possibly trip, or a system that has one camera for many zones.

Another benefit of Video Verification is the direct impact on the customer in determining the appropriate response. Customers are empowered to modify the operator’s response depending on what appears on the clip, or they can become involved with the response by obtaining the clip themselves and directing the Safe Systems’ Central Station operators.
