The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has issued an Request for Information (RFI) from parties interested in the development of renewable energy including solar photovoltaic facilities on MBTA property.
As the largest electricity consumer in Massachusetts, the MBTA has focused on the development of a systemwide approach to implement energy efficiency programs with a goal of clean renewable energy development on its large real estate holdings. The MBTA is seeking to expand energy conservation programs at existing stations and launch new renewable energy projects throughout its transportation system. As part of this effort, the Authority is embarking on a series of renewable energy projects with the current focus on the development of solar photovoltaic arrays.
Prior to issuing a public offering, the MBTA will hold an industry meeting on June 16, 2011 at 10:00am - MBTA Board Room, 3rd Floor, 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116.
