Time and again, we’ve found that suburban shoppers love the boutique aspect of our stores while appreciating the value-driven price points we’re bringing to their neighborhoods.
Irvine, CA (PRWEB) June 13, 2011
DownEast Basics, a high-style, low-price retailer that specializes in trendy fashions as well as modest clothing, opened a store this past weekend at the popular Irvine Spectrum Center to the enthusiastic response of local shoppers.
DownEast will officially celebrate the store’s grand opening and its entry into the Southern California market by offering customers a chance to win a shopping spree during a weeklong “Shopping’s More Fun with Your Girlfriends” giveaway.
DownEast, which has opened more than 20 new store locations throughout the West since 2008, regularly opens in areas where it has a pre-established fan base. The stores are most often located in popular shopping centers in suburban locations versus the downtowns of major cities. The Irvine Spectrum Center, visited by more than 15 million people each year, features such other retail hot spots as Nordstrom, H&M and Anthropologie.
“Time and again, we’ve found that suburban shoppers love the boutique aspect of our stores while appreciating the value-driven price points we’re bringing to their neighborhoods,” said DownEast CEO Klane Murphy, who previously resided in both Glendale and Sacramento, California. “We also frequently decide where to open new stores based on areas where shoppers have already demonstrated a strong affinity for us online.”
DownEast, which operates nationally via its online store at downeastbasics.com, has observed consistent ecommerce sales to customers located in and around Irvine. The new Irvine store will be DownEast’s second location in California – its Roseville store, near Sacramento, is temporarily closed due to a mall fire in late 2010.
Orange County customers can enjoy finding everything they could only previously purchase online in the new local store. It will carry the full line of DownEast clothing and accessories for women, including its swimwear collection that offers mix-and-match options and styles for every body type. The company will also offer a girls’ line in the store.
DownEast Offers “Shopping’s More Fun with Your Girlfriends” Giveaway
To celebrate the Irvine store opening, DownEast is offering a chance to enter a “Shopping’s More Fun with Your Girlfriends” giveaway from Friday, June 17, to Friday, June 24, 2011. Customers can register for the giveaway at the Irvine Spectrum Center location and also take advantage of other special grand-opening promotions. The giveaway will award one lucky winner a shopping spree valued at $200 and also present a $50 gift certificate to each of four friends selected by the winner. The winner does not have to be present at the time of the drawing on Saturday, June 25, to win.
