Add-on GRC Solution for PeopleSoft Smart SoD Enables Organizations to Diminish their Exposure to Fraud and Shrink their Compliance Workload and Costs

Q Software Global Ltd, the leading provider of security, risk management and compliance solutions for Oracle ERP applications and Smart ERP Solutions®, Inc., a Pleasanton, California-based company comprised of former PeopleSoft Architects, Analysts, and Developers announce the immediate availability of Smart SoD, an add-on solution for PeopleSoft Enterprise that simplifies the task of implementing and enforcing Segregation of Duties (SoD) policies.

Smart SoD gives PeopleSoft customers a user-friendly means to define their SoD rules, detect any violations that currently exist in the system so that they can be remediated, and enforce the rules to be applied when new users are added or responsibilities are changed. Mitigations can be applied to cater for temporary reassignment of duties or seasonal staff fluctuations.

Dashboard analytics are also provided to facilitate drill-down query and reporting, providing fast access to information required by internal or external auditors. This will greatly reduce the workload of performing or preparing for audits.

Research by the Ponemon Institute LLC, in “The True Cost of Compliance,” its Benchmark Study of Multinational Organizations in January 2011, indicates that organizations which conduct 5 or more audits per year reduce their non-compliance costs by an amazing 82%. The powerful tools in Smart SoD make it feasible to conduct frequent audits and benefit from huge cost savings.

“We are delighted to introduce this latest product to our family of Smart Solutions,” said Doris Wong, CEO at SmartERP. “Like other ERP applications, PeopleSoft has its own unique embedded security model that controls access to every aspect of the application. Effective SoD is then best performed from within the PeopleSoft application itself, where the application access can be controlled and monitored directly. That’s why we designed Smart SoD as an add-on solution that is embedded within the PeopleSoft application. This enables us to provide effective SoD in a matter of days, not weeks or months, since hundreds of pre-built rules expressly designed for PeopleSoft applications and their unique security model are provided out-of-box.”

“Smart SoD is a great addition to Q Software’s range of GRC solutions, which helps customers to strengthen their business controls whilst driving down their costs of compliance,” said Mike Ward, Managing Director of Q Software Global Limited.

SmartERP Solutions will showcase Smart SOD, along with the rest of their Smart Solutions, at the HIUG Interact 2011 Conference, in Scottsdale, AZ from June 12-15 as well as at the OHUG 2011 Global Conference in Orlando, FL from June 20-22.
