On Wednesday, June 29th, the largest single-day fundraising event in March of Dimes history will occur in which more than $2.5 million will be raised to benefit healthy pregnancies and babies. Now more than 20 years strong, Farmers Insurance has been a loyal supporter of the March of Dimes organization. They created Be a Hero for Babies Day® to draw attention to the important work they do to prevent premature births, which is the leading cause of infant death. In the weeks leading up to Be A Hero for Babies Day®, and on the day of, Farmers Insurance agents in communities across America host various grassroots fundraising events such as carwashes, golf scrambles, pancake breakfasts, dance-a-thons, baseball and poker tournaments and pie-throwing contests. Orca supports Farmers’ talented team by generating local and regional press coverage for these community events. The time, energy and commitment of Farmers agents nationwide in executing hundreds of successful fundraisers for March of Dimes is nothing short of amazing. Furthermore, the nation’s third largest insurance group announced this month a major three-year sponsorship deal with NASCAR leader Hendrick Motorsports.
For five races in the 2011 Sprint Cup Series, Farmers Insurance will receive primary placement on Mark Martin’s No. 5 Chevrolet, including: June 5th at Kansas Speedway, June 12th at Pocono Raceway, June 26th at Infineon Raceway and Aug. 27th at Bristol Motor Speedway. Farmers will then receive associate-level sponsorship the remainder of the 2011 season.
Beginning in 2012, Farmers Insurance will be the majority sponsor of the No. 5 Chevrolets fielded by Hendrick Motorsports and driven by 11-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race winner Kasey Kahne. Covering the 2012, 2013 and 2014 racing seasons, the agreement secures primary paint schemes for Farmers Insurance in 22 Sprint Cup Series events annually and prominent brand placement in all non-primary races.
