CareAnyware, Inc., has launched electronic Medication Administration Records (eMAR) allowing hospice organizations to provide expanded services to their communities and improve operational efficiencies. CareAnyware’s eMAR application reduces the risk of improper administration of medications and allows clinicians to manage complex, individualized care plans efficiently and accurately. Clinicians can document a patient’s medication intake in real time, and the record of intake is instantly integrated with the patient’s electronic medical records. Once a medication order is recorded, it is automatically entered into the eMAR, eliminating the need for the clinician to manually enter the information. Any changes to medication orders such as frequency changes or drug discontinuation will automatically be reflected in the eMAR. In the event that a new medication is incompatible with a medication a patient is currently taking, the system will alert the clinician, serving as a safeguard against human error.
