Energy_Point was chosen as a top Money-Saving Product because it provides an economical solution that offers significant cost savings to building management
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 15, 2011
Prenova announced that BUILDINGS magazine has selected the company’s Energy_Point™ application as a top 2011 Money-Saving Product. The winning product is part of a special feature in the magazine’s June 2011 issue.
Finalists were based on the money-saving qualities offered to building owners and facility managers in areas such as energy consumption, water savings, lighting, productivity, maintenance, and more. After reviewing all submissions, editorial staff selected an elite group of 67 products.
“Energy_Point was chosen as a top Money-Saving Product because it provides an economical solution that offers significant cost savings to building management,” says Chris Olson, chief content director, BUILDINGS.
Energy_Point is an enterprise energy management solution that enables organizations with multiple facilities to both monitor daily energy usage and control energy-intensive equipment (e.g. HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration systems) from a single Internet portal. Previously, this could only be accomplished by either standardizing on a single building controls platform or installing additional hardware in each facility. Both options required extensive capital investment. Energy_Point is delivered via a Software as a Services (SaaS) model, requiring no upfront capital.
“One of the main goals in developing Energy_Point was to give organizations with large, geographically distributed portfolios the ability to monitor and control their building assets remotely, no matter what building automation or energy management system might be installed on site,” said Michael J. Nark, Prenova’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “Energy_Point provides building owners and operators with a common controls interface for their entire portfolio. This means greater visibility into asset performance and more control over how buildings operate day-to-day. The end result is improved energy efficiency, which can translate into a 20-30 percent reduction in energy spend for an organization with multiple facilities.”
BUILDINGS is a publication that serves over 73,000 building owners and professional facilities managers in North America. The monthly publication helps readers make smarter decisions relevant to the management, modernization, and operation of their facilities. http://www.buildings.com
