Airvoice Wireless selects Vintalk’s Best-of-Breed VoIP Platform to Manage and Transport Its International Long-Distance Calling Services

As the needs of wireless subscribers continue to extend beyond their domestic geographic boundaries, service providers will increasingly seek to enhance their value proposition...

Vintalk, a global provider of wholesale, business and consumer IP communication solutions has partnered with Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), Airvoice Wireless, to provide customers with Vintalk’s International Long-Distance (ILD) calling plans.

Airvoice offers competitive flat rate Unlimited talk/text plans which feature data. Vintalk’s ILD enhances Airvoice’s service by enabling it to offer a very low cost calling option for the international market--this includes a Pay-As-You Talk plan and Unlimited Calling plan to more than 50 countries.

“By partnering with Airvoice Wireless, we have doubled our reach and distribution channel overnight as well as increase our footprint into the wireless industry,” said Tim Eisenmann, Executive Director of Vintalk ILD.

Under the terms of the agreement, Vintalk will provide the underlying infrastructure to support the termination of Airvoice’s ILD traffic. By leveraging Vintalk’s Voice over internet Protocol (VoIP) platform, Airvoice will enjoy reduced transport costs, a significant increase in back office productivity, high network reliability, and quality of service. This partnership is also great for Airvoice’s current and future merchants. The ILD plans provide their merchants with yet another revenue stream.

In addition to reduced ILD rates and increased quality, all new Airvoice customers will receive $5.00 of FREE international calling just to try out the service. Customers will be able to either signup for the service with a credit card through the Airvoice website,, or visit an Airvoice dealer to purchase a hard card.

“Airvoice Wireless is excited to partner with Vintalk to offer low-rate international dialing services. We are confident that these plans will not only be attractive to current wireless service subscribers, but also appeal to any telephone user who places international calls,” said Wally Dickow, Vice President, Airvoice.

The white label agreement between Vintalk and Airvoice demonstrates the continuing trend of mobile convergence in the business and residential consumer marketplace, and it highlights a key strategic benefit of am MVNO/VoIP provider partnership in competing for ILD consumers and their minutes.

As the needs of wireless subscribers continue to extend beyond their domestic geographic boundaries, service providers will increasingly seek to enhance their value proposition to this growing community. For MVNOs, a VoIP approach to international calling services becomes a seamless extension to their existing operating methodology. Capitalizing on the capabilities of a VoIP partner increases ILD subscriber take rates through substantially lower pricing, while significantly improving its cost profile associated with delivering these services.

From the VoIP provider’s perspective, the MVNO represents a new customer segment creating a fresh revenue stream and increased network utilization which optimizes the company’s profitability. VoIP operators are able to add incredibly large amounts of traffic onto their networks with very little additional capital expense, and importantly, without compromising the quality of service.
Additionally, as a VoIP provider significantly increases the amount of international traffic that it carries on its network, other communication carriers seek to offer to the VoIP provider new or additional routes in order to operate and compete more effectively with their peer companies.
