GourmetOnTour.com Managing Director Judith von Prockl wins IACP Award of Excellence for Culinary Tour Operator of the year recognising her contribution to culinary tourism.

Food is the common language

GourmetOnTour.com founded by managing director Judith von Prockl (which organizes global cooking holidays and cooking courses by top chefs) has won the prestigious 2011 IACP Award of Excellence for Culinary Tour Operator of the Year. At the 33rd International Association of Culinary Professionals’ (IACP) Annual Conference, Judith joined the ranks of past IACP winners such as Julia Child, Chuck Williams who founded Williams Sonoma, chefs Rick Bayless and Marcella Hazan and gourmet purveyors such as Whole Foods Market and Cuisinart.

IACP honoured the world’s top gastronomic talents at the 2011 Awards Gala on June 2 at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas. Dave Arnold, director of technology at The French Culinary Institute, and Chris Young who co-authored Modernist Cuisine, hosted the celebration to, “honour our members’ extraordinary contributions and commitment to the culinary field,” notes IACP’s press release.
