It is well known for its beer and BMW cars but the elegant Bavarian city of Munich this week comes into focus as the venue for hosting Orange Business’s annual event for corporate clients in Europe and Emerging Markets. For the second year running, Exeter based Organic Development Ltd have been commissioned to provide a multilingual Social Media and broadcasting platform designed to allow participants to communicate with one another even if they cannot attend the convention in person.
Following the success of a smaller social media effort at last year’s event which was held in Amsterdam and in which Organic were closely involved, the organisers have decided to expand the social media element for this year. A social media team with a group of well known international bloggers will be blogging live about what happens at Orange Business Live. They will interview clients and participants after the plenary sessions or conferences. In addition, a web TV as well as a web radio studio will be set up in order to record debates and interviews directly on location.
Those readers who are not able to make it to this week’s event will be able to keep in touch with what happens in Munich thanks to the twitter handle @orangebusiness, which will lead them to the right resources on the blogs and other media, also through the event hashtag #live11.
The platform can be viewed at http://events.orange-business.com/. Commenting on the event, the company’s Managing Director, James Moffat, who will personally be supervising the social media operation, welcomes the close relationship with the global telecoms giant. “ This is the second year in which we have undertaken the Social Media work for Orange at their important European event for business clients and we couldn’t have asked for a more marvellous showcase for how we are helping major corporates with their use of this vital new medium” he said before departing for Germany.
