T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Project scholarship recipients now have access to more affordable course materials as a result of a new partnership between Child Care Services Association (CCSA) and Pearson, the world’s leading learning company. Pearson is offering students in CCSA’s T.E.A.C.H. scholarship program 12 percent off the retail price of their course materials and free shipping at http://www.mypearsonstore.com.
The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Project is designed to improve the quality of early childhood programs by offering scholarships and other support to workers who would not otherwise have access to higher education. Each year, the program awards more than 20,000 scholarships through nearly 10,000 sponsoring childcare centers for a total of nearly $30 million. Last year, T.E.A.C.H scholarship students pursued nearly 130,000 credit hours at 500 community colleges and universities across the country. The organization currently operates in 23 states and the District of Columbia.
“Pearson’s support of teachers spans from their preparation in the college classroom through practice in their own classrooms and child care settings. We are pleased to partner with CCSA to make higher education a more affordable reality for early childhood workers in the T.E.A.C.H. program,” said Nancy Forsyth, president of Teacher Education and Student Success at Pearson.
“Access to teacher education is critical to increasing the quality of child care in our nation. The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood®-Pearson partnership will help to decrease the cost and open doors to college education for more early childhood teachers,” said Sue Russell, President of Child Care Services Association.
Pearson, the world’s leading learning company, has global reach and market-leading businesses in education, business information and consumer publishing (NYSE: PSO).
