VIRGO and The 2112 Group Renew Partnership for the Channel Partners Cloud Convergence Council

Channel Partners has renewed its partnership with The 2112 Group to host the Channel Partners Cloud Convergence Council.

VIRGO Publishing, a leading business-to-business information services company, announced today that Channel Partners, VIRGO’s resource for the communications channel, has renewed its partnership with The 2112 Group, a technology business strategy firm specializing in technology and channel communications and intelligence services, to host the Channel Partners Cloud Convergence Council.

As the IT and Telecom channels converge in the cloud, Channel Partners and The 2112 Group seek to bridge the gap by bringing together thought leaders from both channels to form a unique council. The Cloud Convergence Council will consider strategic issues such as evolving business models and identifying opportunities and challenges, as well as tactical issues such as reconciling terms and language and setting governance and performance expectations. Additionally, the Cloud Convergence Council will spend considerable time reviewing and reconciling matters of channel margins and sales compensation for cloud services.

The inaugural council was held at the 2011 Spring Channel Partners Conference & Expo, March 13-15, 2011 in Las Vegas. The results of this meeting were recently presented in the report, Channel Convergence and Evolution Through Cloud Computing. The Cloud Convergence Council’s next meeting will be held during the 2011 Fall Channel Partners Conference & Expo, August 24-26 in Chicago. In addition, the Cloud Convergence Council will produce a four-session track covering such hot cloud topics as channel compensation, security and regulation, sales objections and the emerging value chain.
