Retail Trade Industry Boosts Recruitment for Marketing Managers in May by 28%, Despite Slow Sales

In May 2011, recruiting agencies and employers in the Retail Trade industry placed more than 1,300 new job ads online for Marketing Managers, even though sales growth remains slow, according to WANTED Analytics™.

Despite the fact that retail sales are down, the retail trade industry continues to boost hiring by placing 1,300 new job ads online for Marketing Managers in May 2011, according to WANTED Analytics (http://www.wantedanalytics.com), the leading source of real-time business intelligence for the talent marketplace. This represents a 28% growth in job ads for this occupation from May 2010.

Although this increase in online job ads may indicate that the retail industry is growing, a talent shortage for Marketing Managers with retail experience has evolved as a recruiting challenge. Due to this increased competition among retail employers for Marketing Managers, recruiters will likely experience difficulties in sourcing candidates, longer hiring cycles, and more expenses involved with filling Marketing Manager openings.
