SNPTips allows you to instantly see how SNPs on web pages match your personal genotype.
Reston, VA (PRWEB) June 15, 2011
5AM Solutions has just announced a substantial release to their SNPTips personal genomics extension for the Firefox web browser.
The 1.1 update adds support for Firefox version 4 (and the upcoming version 5 beta), and in addition to working with 23andMe user data, version 1.1 also adds support for an additional personal genomics service, deCODEme. deCODEme customers can now use their data files with the SNPTips extension as well.
Along with the primary improvements, several bugs have been fixed, and the security model has been tightened to prevent accidental emailing of genotype information from SNPTips-enhanced web pages. SNPTips can now also be used by anyone, whether they are a customer of a personal genomics service or not, providing the convenient reference and look-up links for SNP information even when corresponding personal genomic data is not loaded.
