Full Sail University Receives Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award

Full Sail University is proud to announce that it has been selected as one of the county recipients of the Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award for Seminole County Public Schools. The university received this honor for outstanding business involvement in education at the Twenty-Fourth Annual Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award Program. The event was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tampa, Florida on June 9, 2011.

“Over the past year, Full Sail’s faculty have focused on guiding and mentoring Midway Elementary educators on utilizing a media-rich toolbox to engage the new generation of learners,” said Dr. Holly Ludgate.

Full Sail University is proud to announce that it has been selected as one of the county recipients of the Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award for Seminole County Public Schools. The university received this honor for outstanding business involvement in education at the Twenty-Fourth Annual Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award Program. The event was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tampa, Florida on June 9, 2011.

Hosted by the Florida Department of Education in partnership with the Florida Education Foundation, the event honored those who assist in providing an environment in which all children can be offered the opportunity to reach their full potential. Full Sail University and its Education Media Design & Technology Master of Science degree program were recognized for their support in collaborating with teachers at Midway Elementary as they learn to integrate technology in their classrooms.

“Over the past year, Full Sail’s faculty have focused on guiding and mentoring Midway Elementary educators on utilizing a media-rich toolbox to engage the new generation of learners,” said Dr. Holly Ludgate, Program Director of the Education Media Design & Technology Master of Science Degree Program at Full Sail University.

As part of the initiative, Full Sail had previously hosted Midway Elementary faculty for a day of professional development on the university campus, which included engaging hands-on activities and modeling of instructional practices that teachers took back to their classrooms and implemented immediately. Course Directors from the university visit Midway Elementary on a monthly basis to partake in meetings for planning purposes and for possible co-teaching opportunities throughout the school day.
