After a dark, emotionally painful and messy divorce, Ohio businesswoman Karen Newbery decided to create a business that would allow women across the globe the power to share their own “man hater” stories through messages expressed on tee shirts. Her company, Man Hater Tees, officially opens for business today.

Her own story (full version is on the website) begins in the typical fashion; when man meets woman, falls in love, and then gets married. Karen had a large house, pool, toys, and a beautiful garden she built and maintained with pride. Over time though, things began to change, and for the worst. One morning at 4 a.m., she finally realized she needed to end the pain, and perhaps get part of her soul back. Little did she know, the war had just begun.

Company founder Karen Newbery said: “This Company is one with attitude and is in support of ‘girl power.’ I want to thank everyone who supports this company and our journey of empowerment.”

Tee shirts are immediately available for purchase with various pre-written “man-hater” slogans.

Man Hater Defined by Newbery: Women can be turned into “man haters” by men who would rather hunt than cuddle on the couch, men that ogle body parts and leave no tip, and those who refuse to pick up their dirty clothes off the bathroom floor and those who believe the kids will actually do their homework. Being a “man hater” doesn’t have to be a lifelong state of mind or place in a woman’s heart. It can simply be a brief moment in time, or it can be an on again off again situation. For some women it can be months, and for any woman going through a divorce, months can quite possibly stretch into years.

Man Hater Tees (http://www.manhatertees.com) allows women who are in “that” moment in time to express their feelings through messages on tee shirts. A portion of all t-shirt sales will support a local divorce counseling group for women who don’t have the financial resources to help with their divorce. In addition to the main website, one can also find Man Hater Tees on Facebook (http://facebook.com/manhatertees ) and Twitter (http://twitter.com/manhatertees) .
