"Marketing Lessons from a Living Legend" with Nook to Be Launched at B&n Lexington Avenue Store on 6/21
A comprehensive course, "Marketing Lessons from a Living Legend" designed for those seeking to compete for the quarter of a million plus new jobs in marketing related areas anticipated this decade by the US Department of labor is now being offered on the Barnes & Noble Nook. The course will be sold on B&N's Pubit digital platform by industry veteran Alvin Achenbaum, who a major ad industry trade journal said was responsible for "tectonic changes" shaping today’s advertising. He will speak in public about the course for the first time at 7PM Tuesday, June 21 at the Barnes & Noble Manhattan store at 86th Street and Lexington Avenue.
Prior to founding a consultancy that advised a host of clients including Hallmark, Toyota, and the United States Department of Defense on agency selections, Achenbaum was affiliated with four major firms. He was executive vice president in charge of marketing and strategic planning in three; McCann Ericson, Grey Advertising and J. Walter Thompson. In the fourth, Backer, Spielvogel, Bates Worldwide he was board Vice Chairman responsible for all professional services.
Achenbaum created the course for those seeking entry into the field or who already were working in related areas with a need to know everything about marketing from its basics to the creation of a workable marketing plan. He said he did it because of a conviction that marketing is the true engine driving the economy and that its role had become badly distorted in recent years.
The course will be available for purchase after June 21 on line at Pubit (http://www.pubit.com), Barnes & Noble’s easy to use digital publishing platform for independent publishers and authors, and at The Achenbaum Institute for Marketing (http://www.apracticalguidetomarketing.com).
