Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 16, 2011
Research and consulting firm Celent, has named SunGard a leading provider of illustrations, portfolio management and accounting solutions in the latest Life/Health and Property/Casualty edition of its North American Insurance Software Deal Trends 2011 report. The ranking is based on the number of deals SunGard signed in 2009 and 2010. In addition, SunGard is ranked first in Celent’s Traction Index, which represents a weighted score, based on the number of deals and the four categories in which the deals are found.
The report analyzes a total of 1,764 software deals submitted by 45 vendors, signed between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2010. Approximately 62% of the deals were property and casualty carriers with the remaining deals relating to life/annuity/health. The Celent report analyzes submitted deals in 40 categories, which are grouped into four meta categories: core processing, distribution, document/content management and infrastructure and financial. SunGard led the infrastructure and financial meta category with 57% of the Life/Health deals and 41% of the Property/Casualty deals.
“We would like to extend our congratulations to SunGard for being named a leading vendor,” said Mike Fitzgerald, senior analyst of Celent’s insurance practice. “We believe that carriers value partners who know the insurance vertical well, and who demonstrate their commitment to it. SunGard’s success in insurance puts it in that category.”
Greg Webber, president of SunGard’s insurance business, said, “We are very pleased to have been ranked so highly by Celent and view it as a reflection of the strength of our iWorks solutions in the Life and Health and Property and Casualty industries.”
