New Company Helps Associations Deliver More Member Benefits

Associations, association members and companies who sponsor them have a new way to achieve revenue goals and realize increased value from their relationships through new programs from Affinity Center International (ACI).

ACI was created by Maritz, a privately owned, 115-year-old-company that is a leader in loyalty, incentives, rewards and motivation programs. ACI’s single focus is to help associations and nonprofits realize their mission by improving the value of membership, increase sales results for sponsor partners and generate non-dues revenue for the association.

ACI founder and president David Carrithers is a former executive at Maritz and American Express Incentive Services. He created the first stored-value loyalty card (predecessor to the gift card), has been awarded two U.S. patents, and is a recognized expert in the field of loyalty and incentives. He brings 25 years of marketing experience to this new venture in order to help associations, especially small and medium-sized, access marketing and affinity programs that traditionally they are unable to tap into.

“The focus is to link the benefits of relationships between association, member and sponsor while rewarding behaviors that benefit all three,” said Carrithers.

On average less than 20% of associations’ revenue comes from membership dues. By partnering with ACI, associations will add a new channel for non-dues income, giving them the ability to do more for their members and achieve their mission.

Additionally, 80% of associations have a staff of less than ten people. These organizations don’t have the resources to build additional revenue-generating activities. ACI is designed to handle the workload a new non-dues revenue stream creates for associations.

“Associations need to improve active member support and retention, while increasing their non-dues revenue to achieve their goals and missions, but time, resource limitations and multiple demands on personnel make it difficult to address them all,” said Carrithers. “ACI’s mission is to help them achieve more by providing programs that deliver tangible value with very little effort on the associations’ parts.”
