We exchange specific best practices without any hesitation.
Alachua, FL (PRWEB) June 16, 2011
The 2011 Accounting and Auditing Conference, presented by CPAmerica International, kicks off June 21 in Las Vegas, Nev. CPAmerica International (http://www.cpamerica.org) is a national association of independent CPA firms that provides shared best practices, networking opportunities and access to expert resources to its member firms.
This annual conference, open exclusively to members of CPAmerica, provides technical updates for firm accounting and audit (A&A) managers and partners on the latest regulations and best practices in A&A practice management. Members can receive continuing education credit during all four days of the conference and preconference offerings.
“I’m looking forward to connecting with friends and new colleagues,” said Scott Goetjen, chair of the accounting and auditing committee and principal with Harper & Whitfield, P.C (http://www.harperwhitfield.com) in Farmington, Conn. “It is extremely valuable to be able to hear about other firms best practices along with a good technical program with excellent speakers.”
Topics that will be covered during the conference include: accounting standards updates, internal controls; risk assessment, audit sampling and communication letters, plus breakout sessions for member sharing.
As a result of strategic territorial exclusivity for membership with CPAmerica, members can share best practices freely without dread of sharing with direct competitors. Member sharing and networking are the driving force behind the conference.
“While the technical knowledge is outstanding, I personally place a lot of value in our ability to network with an outstanding group of A&A professionals practicing today. We exchange specific best practices without any hesitation. We spend time exchanging opinions regarding the implementation of recently issued standards and proposed standards still in the exposure process by standard setters,” said Art Winstead, director of accounting and auditing for CPAmerica and partner at Greensboro, N.C.-based Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., LLP (http://www.dmj.com).
The conference will be held at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, June 21–June 24, 2011.
