Bonterra Solar, a solar power design and installation company, recently completed a project for Catholic Charities of Santa Barbara, a national social service organization whose mission is to serve individuals in need. The rooftop system is comprised of more than 100 solar electric panels and was installed over multiple buildings at the site.
Producing more than 20,500 kWh’s of electricity per year, the solar electric system will significantly reduce the charities operating costs by offsetting nearly 35% of its electricity usage. “We are proud to have been a part of this project and are excited that the savings from our system will allow Catholic Charities to expand its efforts in the Santa Barbara community,” says Blair Herbert, a Principal with Bonterra Solar.
The system was made possible through a cash rebate through the California Solar Initiative (CSI) which greatly reduced the upfront costs of the solar system and will allow Catholic Charities to achieve a very attractive return on investment.
Bonterra, based in Manhattan Beach, CA, designs and installs residential and commercial solar systems in California and Hawaii. Bonterra has installed hundreds of systems and is committed to providing affordable and quality solar systems that provide financial, environmental and social benefits.
