Riverside, CA (PRWEB) June 17, 2011
Jeff Miller’s campaign for the new Corona to Moreno Valley Congressional seat continues to pick up support across the district and the state of California, and Miller continues to be recognized for his work to improve the lives of the people of Riverside County.
Colonel Paul Cook (Assemblyman R-Moreno Valley) endorsed Miller for Congress, saying, “At this critical time in our nation’s history, we need someone who has proven his ability to stand up for taxpayers, commuters, and families. I’m proud to represent the eastern portion of this district while Jeff represents the western portion as we fight for this district, and we need him fighting to help America and Riverside County overcome the tough challenges we face.”
“I am honored to have Colonel Cook’s support. His service to this country in times of war, national struggle, and now his service in Sacramento on behalf of this district speak for itself,” said Assemblyman Miller.
“Voters in Riverside County, where tax increases including Prop 1-A were defeated by wide margins, do not want their voice in Washington advocating for tax hikes,” said Dave Gilliard, general consultant for Miller for Congress. “Jeff Miller’s campaign for Congress is picking up steam because he represents this district and its families very well.”
In another key development, yesterday, the California Transportation Foundation recognized Assemblyman Miller as their Legislator of the Year for his groundbreaking work on adding lanes to the 91 and speeding further development of new lanes.
“When I was elected Mayor in this district, commuters faced a 30 year moratorium on expanding the 91. I called the bluff of career, go along politicians, helped get the moratorium repealed – and in ten years helped add up to eight lanes on the westbound chokepoints and three to the east – in addition to the new lanes that will be coming shortly,” said Miller. “We need leaders in Washington willing to risk their careers to do what is right. I’ve done that and I’m sincerely honored to have the recognition for our district from California’s transportation leaders.”
The California Transportation Foundation is a statewide educational foundation set up to recognize groundbreaking work like Assemblyman Miller’s efforts to fix the 91. For more information about them go to http://www.transportationfoundation.org/TransAwards2011.html.
