Lake Mary, FL (PRWEB) June 16, 2011
Access MediQuip CEO Prakash Patel, M.D., will appear on an AHIP televised show that will be featured on-site at AHIP’s 2011 annual conference “Institute 2011” today, June 16, at the Moscone Center West in San Francisco, California. Dr. Patel will appear on a program entitled, “Surgical Implant Management: Delivering Cost Savings, Creating Utilization Visibility, Enhancing Safety and Increasing Access to Medical Devices.”
The program will educate the audience on the major trends in the high-cost surgical implantable device market and describe the challenges facing health care payers and how they can overcome them. “One of the last high cost, unmanaged frontiers for payers today is surgical implant management,” Dr. Patel said. “It is estimated in reports that implants costs are growing at a rate of over 8% year over year. There is little if any visibility into these costs or what the outcomes are once the surgery is complete. During the AHIP program, I will be talking about some significant opportunities to lower the costs of implantable devices surgeries, while increasing quality and safety for members, payers and their clients.”
Video content of this program will be featured post conference in AHIP Smartbrief and Hi-Wire Newsletters as well as the innovations center channel of the AHIP Hi-Wire website. Stay tuned to watch this dynamic and educational show on-site or via web, June 16th.
