Even in this difficult economy, college students can still find hope for career opportunities and summer employment. A New Jersey based company is leading the way.

“Not only are we supporting college kids with a real-life work experience and a salary but we are also enriching our own team."

While many US companies are experiencing massive layoffs, Myron Corp, a New Jersey-based promotional marketing company, is offering the opportunity of a lifetime for a select number of college students.

Ten students pursuing degrees in Marketing, Business and Liberal Arts from various colleges and universities have been selected to join Myron Corp’s new paid summer internship program dubbed the Myron Brand Advocate (MBA). These MBA’s will be full-time Myron employees now through mid-August and earn a salary well beyond that of your typical summer job at the local mall. The experience and confidence gained this summer will put them at a huge advantage when competing for their first “real” job post-graduation.

According to accounting student Kevin Barron studying at Stonehill College in Massachusetts, “It was challenging trying to find good work this summer. Thankfully, I heard about this marketing opportunity with Myron from a friend, so I applied. Believe me, I was psyched when I got the good news!”

Since its inception, the firm has focused on highly personalized customer service for small businesses. This is one valuable area the MBA’s will concentrate on while they assist in sales development. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the MBA’s job description includes visiting existing accounts to better service their business needs and creating relationships with potential new clients.

“Not only are we supporting college kids with a real-life work experience and a salary but we are also enriching our own team. We hope to develop some of these summer employees into talent we can employ full-time for our growing, international firm,” states Myron CEO, Jim Adler. “ We love the energy these kids bring to the table.”

A performance bonus upon program completion is another incentive driving these ambitious students to develop a strong work ethic.

Already this program is proving to be successful and is rapidly expanding. If you’re ready to ditch the life guard stand or ice cream truck gig for a career building position, you could be the next MBA ( jobs(at)myron(dot)com ) to get hired.

It employs 1,900 people and is active in 18 countries including a corporate headquarters and showroom in northern NJ in addition to a European headquarters and distribution center in Germany.
