Minnesota Private College Week starts June 20 and offers prospective college students the opportunity to learn more about and visit 16 private colleges in Minnesota.

The University of St. Thomas is joining 16 private colleges in Minnesota for the annual Minnesota Private College Week Monday, June 20, through Friday, June 24. The event, coordinated by the Minnesota Private College Council, offers prospective college students the opportunity to tour several participating college campuses in a short amount of time to help jump start their college search process.

Visit times are 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily. Participants who visit St. Thomas during the week will see presentations on financial aid, admissions requirements and student life. They will also take a tour of campus.

Event headquarters will be located in Room 304, Murray-Herrick Campus Center; families can park in the Anderson Parking Facility on the south campus.

While this week showcasing private colleges in Minnesota is designed to give a quick glimpse of each campus, it is only the beginning of the college search process. “MPCW is great because students get a chance to see a wide range of what colleges and universities in Minnesota have to offer,” said Marla Friederichs, associate vice president of Admissions and Financial Aid at St. Thomas. “If they think St. Thomas is where they might like to attend, we encourage them to return for a more in-depth visit later on.”
