Torrance, CA (PRWEB) June 17, 2011

Phiten®, the innovator and original maker of the titanium necklace and precious metal-infused wellness products, today announced a contract with Cliff Lee, the left-handed starting pitcher for the Major League Baseball Philadelphia Phillies.

Lee joins a distinguished group of elite MLB stars as an official Phiten athlete through the new endorsement deal that will extend through the end of the 2011 MLB season including post season play.

“Years ago I walked into a Phiten store with a fellow player,” stated Lee. “After running through tests with the Phiten staff, I was totally convinced. I never take it off now.”

Lee was drafted by the MLB three times since he opted for continuing his education twice over starting his professional baseball career. He joined the Montreal Expos minor league team in 2000. Lee was traded to the Cleveland Indians farm system in 2002 where he worked his way up to his MLB debut against the Minnesota Twins in September 2002. Lee stayed with the Indians through the 2008 season and despite an injury he went on to record his first career shutout on April 25, 2008, and was named the American League Pitcher of the Month for April and August of that year. He had a winning percentage of 88% -- the twelfth best of all time – and won several awards including: AL Comeback Player of the Year Award, the Players Choice Award for AL Outstanding Pitcher of the Year, The Sporting News Pitcher of the Year Award, The Sporting News Comeback Player of the Year Award, the Warren Spahn Award for best left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball and the AL Cy Young Award. During the 2009 season, Lee was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies where he pitched in a World Series game and was traded again for the 2010 season to the Seattle Mariners and then the Texas Rangers. On December 15, 2010, Lee signed a free-agent contract with Philadelphia for five years and $120 million, turning down the Yankees’ seven-year offer for $148 million to play in the city he loved.
