Entrepreneurs from and around Salt Lake host a charity dinner to raise funds to start a new scholarship endowment fund for Salt Lake Community College.

Junto Partners ( announces the establishment of a scholarship endowment fund for entrepreneurs at the Salt Lake Community College. This fund is the first scholarship specifically targeted to entrepreneurs at the college.

A fund raising dinner to kick-off the new scholarship will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, June 17, 2011, at the Miller campus of Salt Lake Community College. Randy N. Schouten, Division Chair of the Miller campus, will speak at the event.

The concept behind the scholarship came as part of a challenge from the Junto entrepreneur classes founded and run by Greg Warnock, and a group of five students has been the driving force in the creation of the fund. The group of students includes Phillip Chipping, founder of ZAGG, Scott Hughes, co-owner of Toolander Inc., Ed Stewart of Zulu Marketing, Daniel Nuffer and David Tutt.

“I love the fact that we are young entrepreneurs just getting started on our own ventures, and one of the first challenges we are given through the Junto program is to find a way to give back to the community,” said Scott Hughes, founder of Toolander, Inc., a company that sells a unique healing care product.

“We hope funding a new scholarship every year will encourage more entrepreneurs to get the education they need,” said Chipping. “By building successful businesses, entrepreneurs will also help build our community.”
