We feel we have achieved our goal with the newly updated web page. Our intent is to provide various resources for the monitoring professional and for them to access it. Making these resources available is our contribution to the IONM profession.

ORIMtec, a leading provider of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring in Northern California, now offers numerous resources for the neuromonitoring professional.

Each of the 6 main landing buttons on the ORIMtec website introduces a unique resource.

ORIMtec Advantage:
The ORIMtec Advantage content reaches out to surgeons, patients and hospital administrators alike. The value of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) is presented as it applies to each target audience. ORIMtec’s comprehensive approach is explained in detail including the qualifications and training of the technologists.

Illustrations:
Technologists will find the quick reference to stimulating and recording electrode placement sites a valuable tool. Muscle groups define needle insertion location sites, nerve innervations and muscle actions that aptly confirm the correct muscle selection. Cranial nerves are illustrated too. The International EEG 10/20 Electrode Placement System is illustrated and description provided. A Dermal segmentation illustration can be used to help identify cervical and lumbar nerve root irritation.

CEUs:
The seven online training classes offered are:

  •     Introduction to OR—Infectious Disease Control
  •     Pre-induction Protocol
  •     Anatomy — Spine, Skeletal, Muscle, Nerve
  •     X-Ray, MRI, and Conditions of the Spine
  •     Surgical Procedures & Instruments
  •     Anesthetic Agents
  •     Waveform Recognition & Troubleshooting

Continuing education credits have been approved by the American Society of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) and the California Board of Registered Nurses (BRN).

Surgical Animations:
Numerous animations on spinal and cranial conditions and the surgical procedures used to correct them are available to the patients who will find them quite informative. Patients can also see how intraoperative monitoring plays a role in the process.

IOM Forum:
ORIMtec provides a social network specifically for the IONM professional. Technologists can use this feature to ask pertinent questions when time-sensitive and necessary. As the site grows online professionals will be there with answers. This platform also facilitates informative IONM discussions.

Potential Briefs:
Visitors who opt in will receive the latest article highlight and receive new information from ORIMtec as it becomes available. General IONM information will also be presented through Potential Briefs.

“We feel we have achieved our goal with the newly updated web page. Our intent is to provide various resources for the monitoring professional and for them to access it. Making these resources available is our contribution to the IONM profession. We will continue to add to it as time goes on,” says Richard Slepian, President of ORIMtec.

Initial indications show a dramatic increase in user visits and pages viewed per visit. Pages viewed per visit are an indication that the resources are being accessed. "We expect that user visits to continue to grow as the word gets out to more and more monitoring professionals,” says Trent Long, Information Technology Manager of ORIMtec.
