Crane Composites complete line of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) panels has earned GREENGUARD Children & Schools and GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification®. These certifications are issued by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI).

As a leading manufacturer of FRP panels, Crane Composites has progressively improved the quality of it’s products while increasing the use of low emitting materials. The GREENGUARD Certification provides confirmation that efforts have been successful.

According to Kelly Erdmann, Vice President of Building Products at Crane Composites, “Obtaining GREENGUARD certification is another step in our journey to improve our environmental footprint and provide sustainable building products. FRP is known for it’s durability, cleanability and long life; now there is third party certification validating FRP’s place as an acceptable wall and ceiling panel for schools and other people places.”

GREENGUARD Certification is broadly recognized and accepted by a number of “Green” building programs, including the United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED® Green Building Rating System. The not-for-profit GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is an ANSI Authorized Standards Developer, establishing acceptable indoor standards for indoor products environments and buildings. The industry-independent certification is designed to protect human health by improving indoor air quality.

“GREENGUARD Certified products help create healthier indoor environments,” said Henning Bloech, GEI’s Executive Director. “We applaud Crane Composites for demonstrating their commitment to health and sustainability by obtaining the certification.” Architects that specify Crane Composites can now look forward to having Crane’s products contribute toward LEED points.
