NECB honored 163 graduating students receiving Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees

New England College of Business and Finance (NECB) celebrated the 102nd commencement on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the historic John Hancock Hall in Boston, Massachusetts. NECB honored 163 graduating students receiving Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

Former U.S. Secretary of Education, Doctor Roderick Paige served as Commencement Speaker for the graduation. At the commencement, NECB President Howard Horton awarded Dr. Paige with the college’s first honorary doctorate of commerce.

Graduates Laura A. Pearson and Peter P. Plecinoga II both received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. Pearson received the Associate in Science in Business Administration and Plecinoga received the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Plecinoga’s commencement speech discussed the importance of taking opportunities. He said “Embrace opportunities as they are presented – You just don’t know if they will ever come around again.” Plecinoga discussed how he was recently downsized from his banking position, but knew that he would be ok because he has his degree and education to continue forward.

When NECB asked Pearson if she would recommend NECB to other students she said, “I would definitely recommend NECB. It’s a great college. The professors are there to help you no matter what.”

New England College of Business and Finance offers multiple Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in focused areas of business including healthcare, food safety and culinary management, green and sustainable energy management, digital marketing and the nation’s first Masters Degree in Business Ethics and Compliance.
