One year after it’s release, "Walking on Sunshine" video has garnered 10 top honors

Launched one year ago today, the destination video and campaign “Walking on Sunshine” has celebrated immense success. “Walking on Sunshine” has had nearly 25,000 views on YouTube and has won 10 awards for both the video and campaign.

This fast-paced, upbeat film set to the catchy 80's tune "Walking on Sunshine," showcases more than 25 diverse Orange County locations and features more than 60 people soaking up its brand of SoCal fun, all in less than two minutes. Following are the prestigious honors “Walking on Sunshine” has received:

The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program honoring creative excellence for Communications Professionals. The Communicator Awards is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms.
Awards won by “Walking on Sunshine” for the 2011 Communicator Awards:

  •     Gold Award of Excellence, Online Video- Travel

Ava Awards recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, direction, shooting, and editing of audio-visual materials and programs. Ava Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). Ava’s Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding submissions in the competition. The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm.
Awards won by “Walking on Sunshine” for the 2010 Ava Awards:

  •     Platinum Award: Video/Film Marketing
  •     Gold Award: Travel

The Pacific Southwest Emmy® Awards honors outstanding achievement in regional television in the Pacific Southwest including San Diego, Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Bakersfield and Palm Springs.
Awards won by “Walking on Sunshine” for the 2011 Emmy® Awards:

  •     Commercial- Single Spot, Series or Campaign, Michelle Addington, YNR Marketing
  •     Editor (No Time Limit)- Short Form, Steevin Love, YNR Marketing

The Addy Awards is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition recognizing and rewarding creative excellence in the art of advertising. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local ADDY Awards is the first of a three-tier, national competition.
Awards won by “Walking on Sunshine” for the 2011 San Diego Addy Awards:

  •     Bronze: Interactive Media

The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web. The Silver Telly Council, the judging and oversight body, is comprised of top industry professionals that are past winners of the Silver Telly, the highest honor.
Awards won by “Walking on Sunshine” for the 32nd Annual Telly Awards:

  •     Silver: Videography/Cinematography
  •     Bronze: Travel/Tourism
  •     Bronze: Use of HD

The MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals. MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). MarCom’s prestigious Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding in the competition. The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm.
