We can all accomplish so much more when we maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Valhalla, NY (PRWEB) June 22, 2011
Balance Bar Company, one of America’s original energy/nutrition bars, and Swim Across America (SAA), a national non-profit organization that hosts world-class, open-water and pool swims, are partnering for SAA’s 2011 season to fund cancer research, prevention and treatment, and to promote health and athleticism.
“Swim Across America’s world-class open water swims include swimmers of all ages and skill levels, as well as competitive athletes and Olympians,” said Janel Jorgensen, SAA’s president. “They participate in SAA fundraising swims not only because they are passionate about finding a cure for cancer, but also because they love to swim and are committed to living a healthy life, which is in keeping with Balance Bar’s philosophy.”
“Balance Bar will provide healthy snacks to thousands of SAA participants to help keep them energized to ‘make waves to fight cancer,’” said Erin Lifeso, Balance Bar’s director of marketing. “We can all accomplish so much more when we maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
This season, SAA will host 13 open-water swims and dozens of pool swims from coast to coast where Balance Bars will be distributed. Every SAA event raises money for cancer, but each has its own course, beneficiaries and distinct personality. Since its inception 25 years ago, Swim Across America has raised more than $30 million for cancer research, prevention and treatment.
