Officer

Tools4ever the market leader in Identity and Access Management solutions, is pleased to announce that Fitchburg State College has implemented User Management Resource Administrator (UMRA) at their school. Located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts with 6,500 students and 520 employees, the school needed an efficient way to accurately create and delete accounts for their users. Before Tools4ever’s UMRA, Fitchburg had an Active Directory with over 44,000 accounts, many of which were not active, and needed to clean up this system.

With Tools4ever’s User Management Resource Administrator (UMRA), Fitchburg has set certain criteria for different users, so that UMRA will either create or delete an account automatically if these criteria are met. There is no long a need for system administrators to manually create and delete hundreds of accounts each semester with frequent errors, because UMRA runs four times a day and sends an email to the appropriate person when an action occurs in the system.

Sherry Horeanopoulos, Information Security Officer for Fitchburg State College said, “UMRA from Tools4ever was a really easy solution and the support was phenomenal. There is no other company that I deal with regularly that I like better.” With UMRA, Fitchburg was able to decrease time spent on dealing with accounts by 75% and no longer receives calls from students and employees panicked about not having accounts.

Fitchburg plans to add the Tools4ever UMRA Web portal in the near future. This will allow them to handle accounts for adjunct professors who teach online or offsite courses more efficiently. They will be able to immediately disable accounts for terminated employees as well as create accounts for this type of non-regular faculty.
