We [Pete’s Place staff] are truly grateful for Oneupweb’s gift

The digital marketing leaders’ music education documentary, Step & Close has been recognized with its 8th award—and this time they’re celebrating by giving back to Northern Lower Michigan’s only youth shelter, Pete’s Place.

“We’re overjoyed to win our first silver Telly,” explains Oneupweb CEO and Founder, Lisa Wehr. “Not only because it puts us amongst past Telly winners like ESPN and Bon Jovi, but most importantly because our own community [Traverse City] was very much involved with the procurement of this award.”

Oneupweb was awarded the Telly’s highest honor, a Silver Telly, for their Traverse City West Marching Band documentary, Step & Close. Over 13,000 entries are submitted to the Telly Awards annually—competition varies amongst prestigious worldwide TV stations, production companies, marketing/advertising agencies and organizations.

“We’re big supporters of education, and the production of Step & Close was our most recent act of helping our local students,” explains Wehr. “As a thank you to the community for helping us achieve this award, we wanted to give back again, but this time we wanted to help kids who are in a greater need of help.”

On Monday, June 27, 2011 the Oneupweb team will present their $2,500 donation to Pete’s Place.

“We [Pete’s Place staff] are truly grateful for Oneupweb’s gift,” explains Third Level Crisis Intervention Director of Youth Services, Norvilla Bennett. “Oneupweb’s donation will fill a gap in personnel and training cost; increasing the quality of care for the youth at Pete’s Place. Additionally it will provide more opportunities for our community’s teens.”
