Sitting in a cafe drinking coffee is how it all started. Dan Carmody, the founder of nonBored.com, noticed that people would enter the cafe and post beautiful event advertising posters on the cafe's corkboard. “It really seemed like an inefficient and wasteful method to advertise local events,” states Dan Carmody. “Event advertising is so decentralized, I decide to create a free event advertising website that any organization can utilize.” That is how the idea for nonBored.com was born.
nonBored.com is a new service that allows organizations to advertise events for free that are open to the public. Launched in early May 2011, nonBored.com has received a tremendous amount of interest from business owners, event management companies and event marketing firms. Since nonBored.com's launch, there have been event posting throughout the United States, Canada and one event posting in London, England. “nonBored.com allows organizations to post any upcoming event that is open to the public such as street festivals, fundraisers, networking events, political events, religious events and more,” Dan continued.
All events that are posted on nonBored.com receive a customized, search engine optimized, webpage. Furthermore, each event that is posted on nonBored.com is able to be shared with all of the major social media websites. “nonBored.com is helping people find really great events that they may not have otherwise known about.” Dan concluded.
