Our accreditation means that as an organization, we care enough about our patients to strive for the highest care possible.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) June 24, 2011
Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging Centers (SDMI) has achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). As an accredited organization, SDMI is among nearly 5,000 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States who have met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by AAAHC. Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek accreditation; not all undergoing the on-site survey are granted accreditation.
“We believe our patients deserve the best,” stated Dr. David Steinberg, Managing Partner of Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that AAAHC, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facilities and procedures. Our accreditation means that as an organization, we care enough about our patients to strive for the highest care possible.”
Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation by AAAHC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAAHC expert surveyors – volunteer physicians, nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care. The survey is consultative and educational, presenting the best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.
“Going through the process challenged us to find better ways to serve our patients, and it is a constant reminder that our responsibility is to our patients and the quality of care we provide,” said Steinberg.
AAAHC accreditation is specifically for organizations that provide diagnostic or medical care on an outpatient basis – where an overnight stay would not be required. Among the types of ambulatory health care organizations that can seek AAAHC accreditation are ambulatory and office-based surgery centers, single and multi-specialty group practices, college health centers, dental group practices, community health centers, occupational health centers, managed care organizations, and diagnostic imaging centers.
Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging evolved out of Dr. Leon Steinberg’s radiology practice that began in 1958. SDMI limited partnership, d.b.a. Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging was formed on January 1, 1988. The company has since grown to approximately 300 team members with 20 Board Certified Radiologists. Its Maryland Parkway office opened for business on February 29, 1988. Since, SDMI has opened additional offices in Green Valley (September 3, 1995), Summerlin (May 4, 1998), Henderson (December 22, 2003), the Southwest (December 2008), and anticipates opening its sixth and newest location in Centennial Hills (January 2013).
SDMI provides a complete range of outpatient diagnostic radiology imaging including interventional radiology, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal radiology, and pediatric radiology. Steinberg Diagnostic facilities perform outpatient angioplasty, pain management, CT and ultrasound biopsies and venous access placement. Additionally, SDMI has the technology to perform CT lung and cardiac scoring screenings, CTA (CT angiography) and CT colonography. SDMI performs PET scans at two of its locations and offers wide bore and high field MRI scanners, as well as bone mineral density evaluation equipment at each location.
Founded in 1979, The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) is the leader in ambulatory health care accreditation. AAAHC is an organization that develops standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education and research. Accreditation by AAAHC is recognized as a symbol of quality by third-party payers, medical organizations, liability insurance companies, state and federal agencies, and the public.
