The food photographer needs to show not just how the food looks, but also its aroma, texture and taste. Our workshop will teach you how to create that kind of impact.

PhotoTour DC will host the Fancy Food Photo Workshop & Coaching Event July 12 at the Long View Gallery. The event is designed to help photographers learn the art of food photography and provide exposure for local restaurants.
“Great food photography is designed to stimulate all the senses,” says Lynford Morton, PhotoTour DC president and workshop presenter. “The food photographer needs to show not just how the food looks, but also its aroma, texture and taste. Our workshop will teach you the steps to creating that kind of impact, and our photography coaches will provide the personal tutoring to help you create your own visual masterpiece.”
While the focus is on photography, local restaurants will also be showcased at the workshop and coaching session. Top restaurants from around the city will present an eclectic mix of upscale to casual, American to International fare, so photographers can sample a wide range of foods with their lenses.
“From the food business owner to the foodie with a camera, attendees will be able to choose the format that bests fits their learning styles, as options are available for a person to attend either the workshop, coaching session or both,” says Morton.
