New SL1000 Digital Film Scanner offers Energy-Efficiencies Ideal for Educational, Corporate or Government Libraries

“The SL1000 Scanner provides libraries of all sizes with a powerful and compact digital scanning solution that saves space while lowering operating costs,” said Kevin Kern.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced an advanced preview of the SL1000 Digital Film Scanner. An energy efficient and ultra-compact solution, the SL1000 Digital Film Scanner is ideal for educational, corporate or government libraries that require advanced document imaging capabilities in a small footprint.

Konica Minolta is showcasing the SL1000 Scanner in booth # 631 at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference and Exhibit, June 23-28, 2011 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

With dimensions of 12.8 x 7.0 x 16.7 inches (W x H x D), the SL1000 Scanner does not compromise speed or functionality due to its compact size. End-users can preview and scan images in color or black and white in as little as one second. With easy-to-use controls, the SL1000 allows users to perform image adjustment functions and scan-to-file or print with a convenient USB 2.0 or Windows interface. In addition, the SL1000 scans multiple micrographics formats including microfiche, jackets, cards, 16 mm or 35 mm roll film, as well as negative and positive color film with a 360 DPI resolution and delivers an output resolution of 600 DPI.

“The SL1000 Scanner provides libraries of all sizes with a powerful and compact digital scanning solution that saves space while lowering operating costs,” said Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. “Our customers can count on Konica Minolta to provide them with a comprehensive line of electronic publication systems, micrographics products, digital imaging systems and application solutions that offer proven reliability and support.”

The SL1000 is energy star compliant, and already meets the Energy Related Product Directive (ErP). The newest addition to Konica Minolta’s line of film scanners is designed with the environment in mind, and uses less energy than the previous generation’s bulkier, analog equipment. The SL1000 offers standard SL-Touch software with an optional touch panel and also features an optional foot switch for high volume scanning and optional coin vendor interface ideal for library environments.
