Originally released in print in 2005, Coco LaBon’s The Legend of the Chocolate River(published by AuthorHouse) gets a modern update with the release of the book in iPad/iPhone app form. Enriched by exciting new technology, the adventures of Manda and Mr. Crowley have entered the realm of multimedia entertainment.

A light-hearted and fun adventure for the four to eight year-old reading group, The Legend of the Chocolate River is now even more accessible for young readers. Using the multimedia features of the iPad and iPhone, children can experience the story like never before. Even preschoolers can enjoy the book on their own by following along with the story as it is read aloud to them.

With the touch screen, users can easily navigate through the book using a table of contents and bookmark feature, allowing them to jump anywhere in the story or right where they left off. The app also includes a “Paint Me” feature which allows children to color the book by finger painting over the illustrations to create their own version of the book.

The Legend of the Chocolate River is an adventure story about Manda, a baby elephant, and Mr. Crowley, a wise, old frog. Every day, Mr. Crowley rides on Manda’s back as they travel through the jungle. One day, Manda decides to go on a journey to the Chocolate River, and the reluctant Mr. Crowley goes along for the ride to guide Manda through the dangerous path.

The Legend of the Chocolate River is a fun, lighthearted children’s adventure story.

Coco LaBon lives and works in the Washington, DC area. She holds a bachelor’s degree in radio, television and film from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She also has a professional certificate in 3-D animation from George Washington University.
