About the Author
Wang Yan Han was born in Beijing, China, 1985. He grew up with popular Chinese martial art fictions, Asian-characteristic comics, and of course, traditional Chinese mythologies. From a very young age, he was always very imaginative. For one thing, he certainly knew how to keep himself entertained by coming up with different story-lines. Although it had somewhat negative impact on his education, he didn’t mind it too much. For if the school was to test creativity, he knew he would lose to no one.
At the age of fifteen, he went to study abroad in New Zealand, where he bathed himself with the western culture. He was delighted by the fact that the mythology of other cultures was just as enjoyable as his home country. Indeed, he read about various mythologies from European Culture ranging from Greek, Celtic, and Rome. Furthermore, he discovered the differences between how legends were told differently with curious differences focused between Asian and Western cultures.
This was when an interesting idea occurred to him: wouldn’t it be interesting to create a story composed of two cultures? Even better, wouldn’t it be interesting to him and, hopefully to others as well, to create a story that composes of the scenarios from both cultures that are most interesting. This, in reality, was the reason that the story ‘Seven Stars’ was written. He wanted to create a perfect hybrid between the two cultures that he so long loved. He also wanted to create a book where everyone could find a part that they enjoyed, a part that they liked to see. He spent most his free time during his undergraduate in the University of Otago, New Zealand, completing the first book, ‘Seven Stars – the Unite of Seven Stars’. Currently, he is working on his second book, ‘Seven Stars – the Tournament of Heroes’, while doing his PHD in Monash University, Australia.
