“We continue to evolve from traditional office products into the contract furniture market and this was a big step."
Lebanon, OH (PRWEB) June 26, 2011
Ghent, a leading manufacturer of visual communication products, announced their Nexus by Ghent product won the Silver Award in the Office Accessories category in the Best of NeoCon competition in Chicago last week.
The competition garnered 321 entries and awarded 72 with either Gold or Silver in 40 product and furnishings categories. A team of forty seven interior designers and facility management professionals from across the country assembled in seven teams to judge the entries over 22 hours, immediately before the NeoCon show began. “This is a very prestigious award,” said Scott Bowers Director of Marketing for Ghent. “We are pleased and honored with the recognition, typically bestowed on the major players like Steelcase and Herman Miller.” The Nexus family of collaboration furniture is also a finalist in OPI’s Award for Innovation of the Year which will announced later this month.
Ghent also launched a new brand and two new product lines at NeoCon this year. “We continue to evolve from traditional office products into the contract furniture market and this was a big step. With the award and steady booth traffic, we feel like we’ve finally made it.” said Bowers. The company was even mentioned in the Chicago Sun Times’ article about the color orange, featured in their new logo. The company believes the new colors and font of the logo, as well as a new distinctive “g,” symbolize a more modern, friendly and open culture. All aspects of the new products and brand reflect the company’s fresh approach focused on customers.
The Best of NeoCon is sponsored by Contract Magazine (Contract), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), International Facility Management Association (IFMA), Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. ( MMPI) and McMorrowReport.com.
