Comparz launched last week and is the ‘Yelp’ for businesses shopping for online services (http://www.comparz.com). Comparz offers consumer-shopping style user reviews and rankings of the online services it covers in addition to free education-focused Decision Guides and blogs to help those in the small and mid-sized business world understand.
“We know that what businesses want are user reviews, rankings and decision guides when trying to select a particular type of service,” says Comparz Founder & CEO Rachel Blankstein. “We also found that most businesses are shopping for a technology or service provider at least several times per year, if not monthly, and that users find the current options (reading blogs and searching Google) to be too time consuming and not helpful."
Comparz is also providing a realistic solution to the explosion of Cloud Computing services. While most businesses don’t understand or even know what the Cloud is—most business solutions, from accounting to finance to email marketing are being provided entirely on the Web (which is referred to as “in the Cloud” or “Software as a Service”).
According to a North Bridge Venture Partners study, Cloud revenues are projected to grow from 2009 to 2014 to over $21 billion by 2014. But someone needs to explain the Cloud and the thousands of Cloud or Web-based solutions to businesses, which is what Comparz is doing.
While Comparz has launched covering only a few categories (email marketing, contact and lead management, online back and web conferencing solutions) the company will quickly be adding more categories that it covers.
