As Social Media becomes more and more prevalent, Golf Discount releases the latest app for golf lovers.

With over 3000 golf related items to choose from, has created an application for Facebook users to create their own golf bag and add their clubs and accessories, called “What’s in My Bag.” The application then stores the information to the users profile and allows them to share it with their friends and invite them to create their own “What’s in My Bag.” This application is the first of its kind for Facebook.

“We wanted to offer a new, creative way for our customers to interact socially,” stated Alan Talanoa, director of Ecommerce. “Whether you use Ping, TaylorMade or Callaway, we have all the equipment to put in your virtual bag. It’s really fun.” Golf Discount has also added a section to the application where you can pull up and view your favorite PGA professional’s golf bag. The plan is to have bag information on over 50 tour players and various celebrities listed in the app.

With over 9000 users, Golf Discount predicts the number of users by 2012 could be over 20,000. Other features planned for a later release are “10 most popular bag items” and special deals offered to the “What’s in My Bag” users.
