New Study Abroad Programs Slated for 2012 Meet Expanding Needs of College Students

IES Abroad announces five new semester, summer, and J-term study abroad programs in England, South Africa, China, Ireland and Chile for studies ranging from health care to language immersion and theater.

To continue answering international education needs of college and university students across the U.S., IES Abroad will launch five new study abroad programs in 2012 in five countries. A not-for-profit national leader in study abroad programs, IES Abroad is adding these offerings to its current and robust catalog of 100 programs at 32 international locations.

New Program for Fall Semester 2012
London & Oxford Health Practice & Policy Program - With an interdisciplinary and hands-on approach to studying health care issues in diverse communities, this program includes coursework in London and at the University of Oxford, service learning in local communities, and a week-long field study trip to Kingston, Jamaica, to examine health care in a developing economy.

New Programs for Summer Term 2012
Cape Town Summer Program – Developed for students interested in health-related careers, this program allows students to witness and participate in the South African effort to effectively deliver health care. Field visits and field placements provide students with opportunities to witness first-hand experience the health issues in Cape Town and surrounding townships.

Shanghai Summer Internship Program - Designed for students who want to participate in an academic internship in the thriving and cosmopolitan city of Shanghai while studying Chinese language, the Internship Program offers opportunities to work in fields such as business, public policy, media and NGOs.

New January Term Programs for January 2012
Dublin January Term - Conservatory Training in Dublin – Students can join Ireland's well-known theatre tradition and enroll in intensive actors’ training at the Gaiety School of Acting - National Theatre School of Ireland, Ireland’s premier acting school.

Santiago January Term - Health Studies: Clinical Observation & the Cultural Aspects of Health Care in Chile - Ideal for students considering careers in health-related fields, this program offers Clinical Observation courses, Spanish Medical Terminology, cultural visits, and homestays.
