Currency exchange rates are now favouring holidaymakers wanting to take a break in Turkey as Jet2holidays announce 2012 route from Newcastle.

The influx of tourists into Turkey in recent years has seen the country capitalise on tourism by increasing prices. However, according to Travelex, Brits can now get 10% more Turkish Lira for their Pound Sterling.

The result of this could see Brits saving money by holidaying in the sunny climes of Turkey as opposed to staying by the British seaside. It is estimated that Brits could save as much as £600 by taking a holiday in Turkey rather than Devon.

What’s more, Jet2holidays has announced a number of package holiday deals to Turkey from Newcastle, available to book for 2012.

Half the Price in Turkey

The research showed that many typical items bought on holiday were almost 50% cheaper in Turkey. Things like a three course meal with a bottle of wine were almost half the price in Turkey, averaging £30.50 a head.

A pint of beer cost an average of £1.86 in Turkey, whilst in Torquay it would cost £3.20. Spa days were another holiday item that was roughly 50% cheaper in Turkey.

With glorious sunshine almost guaranteed, especially on the southern coast of Turkey at resorts like Marmaris, Fethiye and Bodrum, holidaymakers may wish to swap the usual British scenery for something new and more glamorous.

The aforementioned resorts are particularly popular because of their offering of soft sand beaches, fancy bars and restaurants as well as plenty of places to shop. Marmaris is defined by its glamorous marina, which often attracts a high society clientele.

Bodrum and Fethiye both benefit from strong reputations as places to party and shop, with holidaymakers often keen to mix a bit of the high street with the traditional.

Excellent Value Available

Jet2holidays has announced a raft of new holiday deals to Turkey ready for 2012. The excellent return of the pound against the Turkish Lira might persuade some holidaymakers to make their booking early.

As a further saving, Jet2holidays are offering £100 off all bookings for holidays in 2012 made before 4th July 2011.

With such value for money available at the moment, taking a holiday in Turkey might entice some people looking for lots of sunshine, glorious beaches and lots of culture to absorb.
