The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) recently recognized Edmodo, a free and secure social learning network for schools, as a Best Website for Teaching and Learning. The award program recognizes those websites, tools and resources that are of exceptional value to inquiry-based teaching and learning as embodied in the AASL’s Standards for the 21st Century Learner.

"School librarians often lead the way in bringing new technologies to students, educators and schools,” said Nic Borg, CEO and co-Founder of Edmodo. "Being recognized by AASL as a Best Website for Teaching and Learning 2011 is a special honor.”
