Needham, MA (PRWEB) June 28, 2011
Practical solutions and protocols will once again be exchanged at Cambridge Healthtech Institute's third annual "The Bioprocessing Summit " taking place August 22-25, 2011, in Boston. From cell line selection and transfection, to biopreservation, scale-up and bioreactor design, this event explores the bioprocesses that continually consume time and resources. The six meetings comprising the Summit provide a close-up look at the current strategies and innovations for optimizing bioprocesses while mitigating risk and ensuring bottom-line quality.
“In this age of rapid innovation, it's critical to keep up with advances and trends, and to exchange ideas with international colleagues. This event is designed to provide insights that optimize tasks at the bench with an emphasis on 'real-world' experience,” says Mary Ruberry, Conference Director of Cambridge Healthtech Institute.
Leaders in the field will reveal how their work has resulted in innovative ways to produce biopharmaceuticals with greater specificity and efficiency. "Optimizing Mammalian Cell Lines" probes the foundation of protein expression from cell line selection to clone optimization. Culturing mammalian cells are addressed in the 7th annual "Optimizing Cell Culture Technology" meeting, including a session focused on CHO. "Biopreservation" illustrates how to best handle cell storage including freeze/thaw protocols.
Representative scale-down models and bioreactor innovations are discussed in the "Scaling Up & Down with Optimized Bioreactors + Disposables" meeting. And the ubiquitous step of purification is examined in the "Affinity Protein Purification" meeting, including tags, chromatography, and antibody affinity purification.
'Specialized' protein expression systems will be explored through the 5th annual "Baculovirus Technology" meeting as well as the "E.coli Innovations" Dinner Short Course on Tuesday, August 23.
Additional Short Courses include "Optimizing Cell Culture Media," "Chromatographic Solutions to Affinity (Tag) Separation Problems," and "Ensuring Operational Excellence in Bioprocessing."
Along with a lively exhibit hall and extensive poster presentations, networking activities will include breakout discussion groups, which offer the opportunity to discuss relevant topics in small group settings.
