AMPED WIRELESS INTRODUCES THE FIRST TRUE PLUG AND PLAY, HIGH POWER, WIFI ACCESS POINT WITH 4 WIRED PORTS Amped Wireless unveils the AP300 High Power Wireless-300N Smart Access Point for adding long range, high speed wireless access and additional wired ports for existing networks.

Amped Wireless specializes in providing high power, long range wireless (Wi-Fi and Cellular) consumer and business communication products for the home and office. The Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-300N Smart Access Point is the first product of its kind to offer long range, high power, high speed Wi-Fi access, true plug and play installation and four (4) wired ports (PoE Ready) in a single networking solution. The AP300 attaches to any available network port on a home or office router or network switch and adds long range wireless and high speed wired access (through the four additional wired ports on the back of the Smart Access Point) to the existing network.

Plug and Play: No Setup Required - Advanced software allows the AP300 to automatically configure itself to a network’s settings without the user’s input or configuration. The AP300 simply connects to the router’s network port, automatically configures itself and creates a new wireless and wired network for connecting wired or wireless computers, printers and other network devices.

Additional Wired Ports (PoE Ready) – The four wired ports on the back of the AP300 provide additional wired ports for connecting network printers, computers and other wired networking devices to an existing network. Support for Power over Ethernet allows for installation of the Smart Access Point in location without easy access to power outlets. Multiple Smart Access Points may be daisy chained, via PoE cables, to create a network of Smart Access Points to provide wireless coverage for large areas or buildings.    

Amped Wireless Difference: High Power Technology – As with all Amped Wireless products, the High Power Wireless-300N Smart Access Point uses advanced Wi-Fi amplifiers to boost wireless coverage up to 5,000 sq. ft. The boosted performance is then optimally tuned and paired with high gain Wi-Fi antennas for maximum range output. Typical Wi-Fi devices do not utilize wireless amplifiers and are equipped with antennas that have zero antenna gain.

Smart Security Features – The High Power Wi-Fi Smart Access Point use “Smart” features to help manage and secure the network:

  •     Wireless Access Scheduling: Control when your Wi-Fi is on or off
  •     Wireless Coverage Control: Adjust the Wi-Fi coverage of your extended wireless network
  •     User Access Control: Restrict network access to specific users
  •     Supports Advanced Wi-Fi Security: Secure your network with the latest Wi-Fi security standards

Pricing and Availability – The AP300 will have a MSRP of $99.99 and an estimated street price of $89.99. The AP300 will be available from select walk-in retailers, online retailers or direct from the Amped Wireless online store now.
