“These fine men and women have placed their lives on hold, in harm's way and have endured significant personal hardship so that we may live in freedom,” Meyer said.

Carl Meyer, Vice President of National Accounts & Distributor Relations for BSN medical, Inc has once again elected to celebrate Independence Day and honor the men and women of our Armed Forces by personally playing 100 holes of golf in a single day. Money raised will benefit Hire Heroes USA’s Wounded Warrior Employment Transition Assistance Workshops. If Meyer reaches the $80,000 goal, he will have single-handedly raised more than $200,000 for Hire Heroes USA in four years.

Marine Staff Sergeant John Matter will be an honorary caddie for the event again this year. Last year Matter was an Honorary Caddie while looking for his first civilian job. He not only landed a great job, but has also started his own company, the MGS Group. The MGS Group educates Police Departments regarding tactical measures as well as teaching firearms safety courses to civilians.

Army Sergeant Yvette Pino will also be an Honorary Caddie. She is an Iraq war veteran with two tours under her belt and who served our country for seven years. Sergeant Pino is a senior at the University of Wisconsin and the Founder of the Veteran Print Project, which provides a bridge between soldiers and artists while capturing the experiences of combat through a variety of artwork.

“These fine men and women have placed their lives on hold, in harm's way and have endured significant personal hardship so that we may live in freedom,” Meyer said. “They not only deserve to be in line for a good job, they need to be at the head of that line. The skills they learn through working with Hire Heroes USA helps them make that first crucial step in obtaining their first civilian job.”

“The current economic climate has resulted in a staggering unemployment rate that deeply affects military veterans, especially those who are injured,” said Brian Stann, president of HHUSA. “Even in a good economy, veterans are challenged to transition their skills to the private sector. Our challenge now is that our resources are under strain, and we need the public’s involvement and support to expand to help our nation’s heroes in their time of need. Carl’s efforts over the past four years have enabled us to help hundreds of veterans transition into the private sector.”

Meyer will tee off at Chenequa Country Club in Hartland, Wisconsin. MedAssets, based in Alpharetta, Ga., is the title sponsor of the event. Corporate sponsorships are available and individuals can become a Virtual Caddie Team Leader online or join an existing team. The 2011 Title Sponsor is MedAssets. About 100 Holes for Our Heroes

100 Holes for Our Heroes was created four years ago and raised a modest $13,000+ in its first year. In year two, the event was more successful, raising over $46,000. Last year this event generated a staggering $63,000, bringing the three year total to over $120,000. This year our goal is $80,000, which will fund 20 Wounded Warrior Employment Transition Assistance Workshops that will directly help 300 veterans in their search for their first civilian jobs.

About Hire Heroes USA

Hire Heroes USA’s (HHUSA) mission is to offer transition assistance, job search assistance, and job placement services to those who have honorably served in the US military – and to their spouses – in order to reduce veteran unemployment. HHUSA prioritizes veterans statistically most likely to be unemployed: veterans of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM, and veterans that are wounded or disabled. As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, HHUSA’s services are provided at no cost to the veteran.
